Finding Fun Things to Do

I found a site called Zango where people can play games and send them to freinds. I don't play too many games on line but I guess this would be fun for people who do.

I also found a site called Hairmixer that lets you download a photo of yourself and try new hairstyles. I thought this would be fun for young girls at a slumber party or for anyone interested in getting a new style. I also allows you to slim your face, change hair color and adjust the way you look. I might even go home and try it out.

Open Source Information

I found a site discussing some librarians who want to take cataloging from OCLC and make it a kind of open source.

Live, Learn, Work & Play

I LOVE the library. My career goal is to make the library a place where people will want to go. I especially want to get children into the library at a young age and help parents realize how important reading to a child is. Helping other people find hobbies and programs is wonderful too.
I have early memories of being brought to the main library for summer programs. They would show kids movies down in the basement! Man was it dark down there!!

Yahoo Answers

I went to Yahoo Answers to find out how to clear a fountain pen nib. I posted my question and got one answer. I went in recently to see if any other answers had been posted and found that there were many people asking about how to clear a blocked pen. I found some answers from checking other answers.

Value Meal Deal

I went to Universal Studios a few days ago and bought a value meal wrist band because I thought it would help me save money while at the park. It's a rip off!! It was limited to only 4 restaurants and they food choices were not over $7.99 and did NOT include a drink. We only had 2 meals and they were "junk food" items. I guess that old saying, "let the buyer be warned" stands true.

Nutrition-Week 3

I like the idea of playing with the Wii to exercise. It looks like fun. I've played with one of these things to bowl and play tennis but I prefer the actual feel of the racquet or the heft of the bowling ball. I love the idea of music for working out! I don't have time to keep up with all the entering of information or the free informative emails that the sites send out.

Virtual Worlds

I'm taking a class at USF called Human-Computer Interaction. Our teacher has us using Google Lively. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I like to meet people who I can see. At least I can actually see them as people. I went into one room and met a "cat." (Ok, I didn't actually meet the cat because I haven't learned to move myself around a room yet but the cat was there at my feet.) How many other people like to spend time in these places? How many people am I seeing who are actually far away from the state of Florida?

I'm Baaack!!!

The year is 2008 and I'm once again, an official blogger. As a student at USF, I am working towards my MLS degree and anything I can learn about technology can only be helpful. The class I am presently enrolled in requires me to participate in a virtual world called Lively. It's a whole new experience for me and change promotes growth so I'm growing....a whole LOT!!!
